I so love your teachings about "His Restraint" ~The peace you are given when you are willing to accept His will, knowing He knows me better, than I know myself, strengthens my faith! His deliverance came ALWAYS in the end, on His Way and Timetable...Certainly not always the way I hoped and prayed for , but It only has made my Faith in Him grow stronger. In His loving hands I feel safe!

50:52 one day as I was thinking about my ancestors, they being early converts that stuck with the Church and came to Utah, I wondered who they thought was the most important. The answer came very clearly to me. “You.” In astonishment I asked, “Me, why me?” “Because you’re in the middle of the fight.” I felt so loved to know my ancestors care so very much about me, a they do about all of us. I’ve been waiting for doctrine to back that up, when just today I listened to John Bytheway quote President John Taylor, “God lives and His eyes are over us. And, His angels are round and about us and they are more interested in us, than we’re are in ourselves. Ten thousand times, but we do not know it.”

I haven't watched this yet, but I wanted to make a comment after I read this coming week's lesson in the Come Follow Me manual. I wanted to learn more about D&C 25, as President Nelson mentioned in his talk "Spiritual Treasures". I went back to listen to your D&C sections 23-26 lesson. Please write more poetry. I understand how important it is to each one of us to try and be humble about things we've done, or written, or anything else so that we don't vaunt ourselves, but the poem you wrote was beautiful, and almost brought me to tears. I had never once thought about the song that the Savior Himself might sing. I'm so glad I studied the lesson before I listen to your podcast tomorrow. Your poetry is a spiritual treat. God bless you for sharing your many talents with each of us this week. Listening from Arizona.

All you have to do is take a survey of anyone that went to college and they will tell you the truth. A very big majority of the college students do not have jobs that they were interested in when going to college and took those classes. You can take any field you want to weather construction for biology and how many of these people are doing that type of work now, very few. You have certain jobs require certain education and most of the people are trained in that job when working. You can take something like a truck driver most of them have college degrees and at the time it had nothing to do with driving a truck. You go where the money is, when the market is flooded with your expertise you go and do something else. Going to college is a waste of money unless you're a lawyer or doctor and either one of those I would not want none of these for a girlfriend or spouse because they don't have enough home time and that's where most conflicts come in. And sure comes babies later that need your care and attention if not later they will be in prison with the rest of the kids because their parents were too busy doing their own thing and the children is second on the list.

I can understand the point you are making, but as one of those you described, a College Educated (two degrees) truck driver (40 years worth) your generalization is not really accurate. Granted, there are a number of us, but that number is in the great minority. I got out of college in 1972 after being in college for 5 plus years and two years on a Mission. Between graduating from High School in 1964 and leaving college in 1972, and being trained as a teacher (HS), there had been such a change in the attitudes of Students, Parents and Administrators, I just didn't want to put up with it. I had started in the trucking industry as a summer job and found I liked driving and took that path. And also I made more money driving that I would have teaching. And because of the jobs I took, I didn't have to be away from home a lot. In the last 35 years, never more than one night a week, and often none. I am now enjoying retirement and volunteering driving a truck for a non-profit.

@@Kalamabbfan I drove over the road for about 10 or so years and pulled other trailers locally and within the state most of the truck drivers all had college degrees they quit using and had changed their point of view after they jumped in the truck or did something different making a lot more money. I started out doing electrical work and spent a lot of years doing that plus night school and the wages we're not sufficient anymore. I have several professions I can do anytime. I jumped out of the truck and have been working on the farm since. I know several people in their 40s that is still paying for their college because you don't always catch or hit a curveball and the work that I have been in, most do not need a college education.

The priest was essential in the day of the Old Testament, but the New Testament brought in a new covenant. When Jesus died on the cross and shed His blood for us, a new and better covenant appeared, all those who believe Jesus Christ can now be reconciled to the Father, whereas before we were unable to do that, Jesus was the final sacrifice and now we can access the kingdom and God at any time and at any place. Jesus is our high priest, no need for a Priesthood, we have Him and no need for temples, we can be with Him anywhere. The Old Testament seems to be the theme of Mormonism, but Christianity has much more to offer.

I'm sorry but that is not true as everyone since Adam has known about Jesus Christ and His Atoning Sacrifice for us all so they and we are able to reconcile with the Father through the Christ and always only through Him no one else has ever had power to be a mediator with the Father. They have had responsibilities to preform certain ordinances but it still had to finally go through Jesus Christ or nothing was effectual.

It sounds to me like the only thing Christianity can offer is confusion as there isn't even a unified definition of God and His Christ. So if there isn't anything unified what is there??

In a pre mortal life, a mortal existence and post mortal lives (spirit world(s) and places of judgement, angels declare the divinity, nature and character of the Son of God, even Jesus Christ as testimony of His atoning love to all creatures in all worlds under His jurisdiction. There is no space where is is no law, therefore the laws that govern such creatures and which control His creations, on these worlds, all acknowledge His hands in all their works and words and to those who comply to His will by way of obedience are attracted to His presence and those who rebel are repulsed into kingdoms devoid of glory. Alma’s trip to ammonihah taught me much about how important multiple witnesses are to us of truth Alma 9:2 and6 show the people understand the law of witnesses and then Alma lists witnesses they already have spiritual and physical. Then on his 2 nd trip to them amulets is given a witness. A man they personally know and respect as honest. Another thing that you didn’t mention was that amulets had women and children and others in his household. 10:11. So his family was probably apart of those burned 14:8-11 if not they were killed by the lamanite attack. So amulek literally lost or gave up everything he had for the Lord and truth. 15:18. He could have gotten bitter but didn’t. I admire him alot

I loved your comment that God's goodness empowers His justice. Of course! How could it not!?! How could we trust in a God who wasn't just? I am grateful for this!!!

IT SEEMS REASONABLE, THAT A GOOD QUARTERBACK ANALOGY COULD TURN INTO A GOOD BASKETBALL POINT GAURD ANANOLGY, WHERE A POINT GAURD RUSHES TOWARD THE BASKET TO SCORE POINTS AND WHEN HE, JESUS CHRIST GETS DOUBLE TEAM HE CAN, WILL DISH IT OFF TO YOU. WHEN YOU RECIEVE THE BALL YOU DUNK OR PUT THE BALL IN THE BASKET AND HE RECIEVES AN ASSIST ADDITION ON HIS NUMBERS.

It is one of the middle editions, David and harp on the front ice page. My guess is lateish 1800s. It is in rough shape, front cover and illustrations gone. All thee essays and commentary are there.

Such remarkable comfort, reassurance and hope in these lessons. I will eternally praise and give glory to Heavenly Father for pouring out his profound blessings through Jesus Christ, his sacred scriptures and Holy Spirit. That in this life I'm not condemned to always live in darkness, fear and ignorance. How blessed all mankind is to have God's living prophets, apostles and servants to help guide his children in these last days. Thank you Brother Halverson for being an instrument of Divine will and sharing your insights with others.

The record of the Book of Mormon in Alma 14:23 is peculiar. It gives a very specific time frame here but fails to use the same standard on many more significant events in Nephite history.

Does Alma 11:38-39 equate Jesus (Son of God, Eternal Father) as Almighty God when it refers to him as the first and the last as it does for the Almighty in Revelation 1:8 and 1:11?

What I find even more fascinating than Zeezrom’s name in relation to the bribe he offers, is the significance of the silver/metal refinement process. All through scriptures we see this. Silver is impure, it is then heated and pounded until it shines, is removed from the fire, and can be molded and shaped. Zeezrom underwent a similar process: he was wicked or “impure,” he was humbled through hearing the gospel and being persecuted by evil people in Ammonihah, he becomes sick with a “burning fever” and was “exceedingly sore,” he is then miraculously snatched from the “fire” of sickness and condemnation by messengers of God, and he is molded into a missionary and servant of the Lord. Truly inspired Zeezrom is “one of silver.”

Thank you for teaching with the Spirit and for so generously giving your time and preparation for us. I pray that you and your family will be blessed.
